Repkind is a training and nutrition app. This page explains what it stores, where that lives, who can see it and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
The short version
- Repkind needs an account, so your records are saved to it and reach your other devices.
- Your data is kept on your device and synced to your account. It is only shared with the few service providers that run Repkind for us, named below.
- AI features only run after you agree to them in the app, and you can turn AI data sharing off at any time in Settings, Preferences.
- We do not sell your data, and there is no advertising or tracking.
- You can delete your account and all of its data from inside the app.
What Repkind stores
To do its job, the app records:
- Your profile: the name you choose, your goal, and the age, height, weight, gender and activity level you enter so it can estimate calorie and macro targets.
- Your nutrition: the meals and foods you log, their amounts, and any photographs you attach.
- Photo analysis: when you photograph a meal to have it logged automatically, or scan a gym machine or a restaurant menu with Ask Repkind, that photo is sent to Anthropic's API, an AI service, which estimates the foods and portions in it, or identifies the machine or the dishes. Machine and menu scans also receive the same app data as Ask Repkind (below), so the answer fits your plan and what you have left today. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, API data is not used to train its models, and it is kept no longer than their service requires. The estimate comes back to the app for you to check. If you change what a scan identified, we keep only the two food names and your region (no photo, portion or account details) to improve future scans.
- Ask Repkind: when you ask a question, it goes to Anthropic's API, the same service that analyses photos, together with the data needed to answer it: your recent meals and calories, your goal and targets, your planned and recent workouts and, if you connected Apple Health or Health Connect, today’s step count and cycle day. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, API data is not used to train its models, and it is kept no longer than their service requires. The conversation is kept on your phone while the app is open and is cleared when you start a new chat or close the app; we do not store it on our servers. We count how many questions you ask each day, and keep any reply you report so we can review it.
- Your training: routines, scheduled sessions, completed workouts, the sets you log, and your body-weight entries.
- Your preferences: appearance, units, region and reminder settings.
- Subscriptions: if you buy a plan, Google Play or the App Store takes the payment, and we never see your card details. Our subscription service receives a random account ID and the purchase record from the store, so your plan works on every device you sign in to.
- Emails: our email provider sends the messages you ask for or expect, such as sign-in links, password resets and the confirmation when you start a plan. If you have an account, it also sends workout emails: a reminder before a booked session, a summary after one, and a note when you complete every session in a week. They use your synced workouts, bookings, name and time zone. Each can be turned off in the app under Settings, Reminders.
- Support messages: when you message us from Help and support, we keep the conversation (your messages and our replies) with your account, together with your email address, plan, app version and phone type so we can help. It is emailed to our support inbox through our email provider, and our replies are emailed to you and shown in the app. The copy in the app is deleted with your account; see Data retention below for how long the support inbox keeps it.
Some of this is health-related information. It is used to run the features you asked for and nothing else.
Where it is kept
Repkind keeps a database on your device, so the app keeps working when you have no signal and your session is never interrupted mid-workout.
Because Repkind requires an account, those records are also synced to our secure cloud backend, so they reach your other devices and survive losing your phone. They are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored against your account. Signing out leaves a copy on the device so you do not lose your history.
Who processes your data
Repkind is run with the help of these service providers. Each only receives what it needs for its part of the service:
- Cloud hosting provider: stores your account data and photos and handles sign-in.
- AI provider (Anthropic's API): analyses the meal, machine and menu photos you scan and answers your Ask Repkind questions. It receives the photo or question plus the app data sent with it: your recent meals and calories, your goal and targets, your planned and recent workouts and, if you connected Apple Health or Health Connect, today's step count and cycle day.
- Food database (Open Food Facts): receives only the barcode number when you scan a barcode, to look up the product.
- Subscription providers: the App Store or Google Play takes payment, and a subscription service keeps your plan working on every device you sign in to.
- Email provider: sends sign-in links, workout emails and support replies, and receives support messages.
- Strava: only if you choose to connect it (see Strava below).
These providers only process your data to provide the service to you, under contracts that require them to protect personal data to a standard equal to or stronger than this policy. They do not use it to train models or for advertising. For Anthropic in particular: under Anthropic's commercial terms, API data is not used to train its models. To ask for the names of our other providers, email privacy@bazeflix.co.uk.
The AI features (photo scans and Ask Repkind) are only used after you agree to them in the app. You can turn AI data sharing off at any time in Settings, Preferences; the rest of the app keeps working without it.
Permissions the app asks for
- Camera: to scan barcodes and nutrition labels, and to photograph meals, and to scan gym machines and menus. Images are processed for the entry or scan you are making.
- Photo library: only when you pick an existing photo to attach to a meal or to scan.
- Notifications: to remind you an hour before a scheduled workout and when it starts, to show your workout timer while you train, and for the daily check-in if you enable it.
- Alarms and reminders (Android): so workout reminders arrive at the exact time rather than late.
Apple Health and Health Connect
If you choose to connect Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android), Repkind reads your body weight, step count and menstrual flow days, and saves the workouts you finish back to it. You pick exactly which of these to allow on the system permission screen, and you can change that at any time in the Health app or in Health Connect's settings.
- Weight readings are added to your weight log on days you did not log one yourself, and are backed up with the rest of your diary.
- Steps and period days are kept on your phone and are not stored on our servers. They show your steps, your cycle day and period days on your calendar. When you ask Repkind AI a question, today's step count and cycle day are sent with it so the answer can take them into account, on the same terms as the rest of your question (see Ask Repkind above).
- Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, never used to build a profile of you, and is never stored in iCloud.
Each is optional. Decline any of them and the rest of the app still works; you simply lose that feature.
Strava
If you connect Strava, you sign in on Strava's own page and choose what to allow. Repkind then reads your activities from the last 30 days so you can see them next to your training, and, if you leave the option on, posts the strength workouts you finish to your Strava account. The access keys Strava issues are kept on our server and never on your phone. Your Strava activities are shown only to you, are not used by Repkind AI, and are deleted from Repkind when you disconnect Strava or delete your account, which also removes Repkind from your Strava settings.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not show advertising.
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
- We do not share your data with anyone other than the service providers described on this page, and Strava only if you connect it.
- We do not build a profile of you for marketing.
Data retention
- Your account data is kept for as long as your account exists.
- When you delete your account, it is removed from our live database straight away. Backups held by our hosting provider roll off within 30 days, so everything is gone within 30 days of deletion.
- Support messages are kept for as long as we need to handle your request, and for no more than 2 years.
- AI requests (photos and questions) are not stored by Repkind. The only record is the chat on your phone, which is cleared when you start a new chat or close the app, plus the daily question count and any reply you report, both deleted with your account.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything stored on that device, but not what is held against your account. To erase that too, in the app open Settings (tap your photo on Home), then Your account, Delete account: this erases your account and everything synced with it (meals, workouts, routines, weights and meal photos) from our servers and from the device. You can also email us at the address below and we will do it for you. Deletion is permanent and we cannot recover it afterwards.
You do not have to delete the account to remove a single meal, photo or routine. Deleting your data gives the steps for each, and says what is removed and what is kept.
Children
Repkind is intended for adults and is not designed for children.
Not medical advice
Repkind gives starting estimates, not a medical plan. If you have a condition affecting nutrition, or a history of disordered eating, use targets agreed with your care team.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or how it is used, we will update the date at the top and say so in the app.
